Monday 10 September 2001 - The world can change in a day. Don’t miss your daily edition of in-depth news.
It’s not often that a print ad literally jumps up and throttles our attention like this one - done for local newspaper brand Cape Times - did this morning.
There are four executions. This one in reference to 9/11, another (beautifully shot) for Hiroshima 1945, the JFK assassination and the ‘76 Soweto riots.
Using iconic events from history, the campaign highlights the fact that world-changing events often can’t be predicted and that the course of history can, quite literally, change in a day.
Love the art direction and the hard-hitting message of these ads. Stunningly arresting.

I just returned from a week’s Snowboarding with my wonderful girlfriend, Alice. We went to Alpe D’Huez in the French Alps, we stayed in the the Hotel L’Ancolie in Huez village which was nice..and cheap and away from all the tourists, a definate plus!
These stills are all taken with my Nikon D70 with either my 18-70mm or my 70-300mm lens, they are a few of the literally tens that I took and the only ones worth showing off. Let me know what you think..

Ski Holiday: £200 ish
Aviators: £80
Old 80’s Ski Jacket: £12
Receiving absolutely no weird looks for this brilliant get-up: Priceless!

I was lucky enough to be part of the film crew filming this promo, I was an Assistant Cameraman, with two shows over two nights at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium. I was very fortunate to have an amazing view throughout the concert as I was in with sound and lighting guys who were about 60 metres from the stage. They were amazing shows and ones I’ll never forget, especially as I found, while de-rigging all the camera gear, a used, broken set of Will Champion’s drumsticks! I still have them sitting proudly on my mantle…
Here’s a video of the same thing recorded on my crappy stills camera…
And here are a few shots from the concerts…
During Fix You:

And during “In My Place”…i think!

Check out the new Ocean’s 13 trailer here, I don’t know how good the movie will be, but judging by this, they’re back in Vegas and stealing from Al Pacino which I’m sure is gonna make for good viewing

in Bloody Cool! and Art....
I recently worked for ITV’s South Bank Show, the programme was detailing the life of Grayson Perry. Perry won the 2003 Turner Prize for his amazing array of pottery, like the piece below…but what I wanted to highlight was Perry’s amazing etchings, for example “Map Of An Englishman”
