I only stumbled past your photos trying to research the boarding in Alpe d'Huez... and it made me sad that no-one had left you any comments. I like your cool shots, and that jacket is something else.

I am thinking of staying in Huez village rather than Alp Dhuez itself and at the same hotel. How easy is it to get about from there both for skiing or if you want to get in/out of the main resort itself in the evening?

@Michael:

Huez village is great and not too difficult to get to the slopes or restaurants. we had a car and drove up to near the main lift each day, a bit lazy I know but the alternative was a long bubble lift, that leaves 50 metres away from the hotel, which stops in the town then you need another one to the slopes so not ideal but we really enjoyed it.

Does that answer your question?

PS if you're gonna be driving with a sat nav, make sure you check the route thoroughly because you don't want to drive up the wrong side of the mountain only to have to come back down, drive for another hour and drive up the correct side... like we did!
